Delivery & Installation Policy
Final Survey
Before products are ordered for manufacture, we normally carry out a final survey and measurement of the property.
The survey enables us to confirm measurements, installation requirements and the feasibility of the proposed work.
Any necessary changes identified during the survey will be discussed before the relevant products are ordered.
Manufacturing and Installation
Following final survey and order processing, your products will be manufactured to the agreed specification.
Once your order has been checked and progressed, we will advise you of the estimated installation date or timescale.
Installation dates are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates.
Installation Dates and Delays
Manufacturing delays, unforeseen site conditions, adverse weather, previous installations overrunning or other circumstances outside our reasonable control can occasionally affect an installation date.
If we become aware of a significant delay, we will endeavour to inform you as soon as reasonably possible.
Occasionally, unforeseen circumstances may also mean that the estimated time required to complete an installation is exceeded.
Preparing for Installation
Before our installers arrive, please ensure that reasonable access is available to the windows or doors being replaced.
Customers should remove or move valuable or fragile possessions away from the working area and ensure the rooms in which we are working are reasonably clear.
Curtains and blinds should be removed where necessary before installation.
Where alarm systems are connected to windows or doors, customers are responsible for arranging disconnection and reconnection unless otherwise agreed.
We also require access to a standard electricity supply during installation.
Making Good
We will carry out normal making-good immediately surrounding the installation as described in your individual contract.
Although we will endeavour to match existing plaster, render, brickwork and other finishes, an exact match cannot always be guaranteed, particularly where existing materials have weathered or matching materials are no longer available.
Damage to surrounding decoration, wallpaper or tiling may not always be included within normal making-good.
Existing Structural Conditions
Some structural defects or other problems may not become apparent until existing windows or doors have been removed.
If unforeseen structural or site conditions affect the planned installation, we will explain the situation and any additional work that may be required.
Damaged or Faulty Products
If products are found to be damaged or faulty, Sussex Window Works will investigate the issue and, where appropriate, repair or replace the affected product.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
